What does "Campo Santo" mean?!

In Venice you could find the name "Campo Santo" (see the pic below). What does it mean?! Campo means "field", Santo means "saint". A "Campo Santo" was a cemetary!!!!!
When you find this name in the city, it means that there was a cemetery right there.
