Padua in Italy, a wonderful town!

@Padua is a town of the region Veneto that is only 30 Km far from Venice.  Its university is one of the oldest ones in Italy and in Europe, and Padua is still today a town where you can meet students anywhere! Sitting on the tables of the cafés, under some trees reading a book.....

Me in Prato della Valle!!

Padua's biggest tourist attraction is the Scrovegni Chapel, with its amazing frescoes by Giotto. Despite the town's many other interesting sights, this is the only place in Padua where tourism has taken over.

The Basilica di Sant'Antonio (known simply as Il Santo) is also on some tourism circuits but through the rest of town you're more likely to encounter students and smartly-dressed businesspeople than tourists.

You must visit the Prato della Valle too, and you have to get a coffee at the Caffè Pedrocchi!!! Espresso, Cappuccino, hot chocolate......this is really very "padovano" :-)

I went to Padua last day with my daughter: it takes 25 minutes by train from Venice. It's a nice trip and you can really enjoy the beautiful works of art and palaces and churches of Padua!
