One of the most beautiful islands in the Venetian Lagoon is Torcello. Quiet and peaceful green island, it was the first reagion of the Lagoon where the first venetians (they came from the terraferma, mainland) decided to build houses, palaces, bridges. Torcello is really the oldest Venice!!!!!
Once there were in Torcello ca 12.000 inhabitants, nowadays they are......12!!!!!
It's really worth having a visit of this fabulous place, where you can admire the Santa Maria Church and the Santa Fosca Church, the Museum and the very old tower.
We had lunch in a very elegant and peaceful restaurant, close to the
Cahedral.....great!!!!!
